A man who is in a state of major ritual impurity on Friday: does he perform the full ritual bath for the impurity and then perform the full ritual bath for Friday, or does he perform one full ritual bath?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. A man says: I am in a state of major ritual impurity on Friday. Do I perform the full ritual bath for the impurity and then perform the full ritual bath for Friday, or does one full ritual bath suffice for both?

The Shaykh : He performs one full ritual bath, which suffices for both. However, he must intend it for the major ritual impurity. If he intends it for the major ritual impurity, it suffices for the Friday bath. If he intends it for the Friday bath, it does not suffice for the major ritual impurity. If he intends both, both are achieved. Therefore, he should perform one full ritual bath, either for the major ritual impurity, in which case the Friday bath is waived, or for both. He should not intend it for the Friday bath alone, because the Friday bath is not for a state of ritual impurity, whereas the bath for major ritual impurity is for a state of ritual impurity. What is not for a state of ritual impurity does not suffice for what is for a state of ritual impurity.
