Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance and glorify Him in the morning and in the evening."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings. Praise be to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and the badness of our deeds. Whom Allah guides, none can mislead, and whom He leaves to mislead, none can guide. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger, His intimate friend and His trustee over His revelation. Allah the Exalted sent him with guidance and the religion of truth, so he conveyed the message, fulfilled the trust, and advised the community, leaving them on the white, straight path, its night like its day; none deviates from it except one who is destroyed. May Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows: Shall we complete what we began in the verses we started discussing last night, or shall we discuss what we heard this night?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Perhaps we can combine both, if Allah wills. Allah Blessed and Exalted is He said:
O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance
[Al-Ahzab 33:41]
And last night, we mentioned what was reported from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted:
O you who have believed
[Al-Baqarah 2:104]
Please proceed.
The student: "When you hear
O you who have believed
[Al-Baqarah 2:104]
then give it your hearing"
.

The Shaykh : When you hear Allah saying:
O you who have believed
[Al-Baqarah 2:104]

The student: Then give it your hearing

The Shaykh : Then give it your hearing.
The student: Then give it your hearing, for it is either a command you are ordered to follow

The Shaykh : For it is either
The student: For it is either good you are ordered to follow, or evil you are forbidden from.

The Shaykh : Yes, may Allah bless you.
O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance
[Al-Ahzab 33:41]
Allah the Exalted commanded His believing servants, addressing them with this noble description, faith, which I ask Allah the Exalted to make me and you among those who realize faith in creed, speech, and action.
