Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : When a person performs wudu', waswas comes to him and tells him: "You did not wash the nails, or the legs, or the ankles." Is it permissible for him to ignore this voice and leave it alone?

The Shaykh : Some people have many doubts; every time they perform wudu', they doubt whether they completed washing the limb or not. Such a person should not, no, he should not pay attention to it, he should not pay attention to it, because if a person were to consider these doubts, and they are many, it would be a burden. However, if we assume that it is a genuine doubt and not excessive, then he should rely on this doubt and remove this doubt with certainty.

The questioner : ... How many times?

The Shaykh : So it means he has waswas. In that case, he should not pay attention to the doubt.

The questioner : And by the way, Shaykh, some of the verses.

The Shaykh : Al-Fatihah, that is.

The questioner : Some of the verses, he can recite them, and the tahiyyat...

The Shaykh : Absolutely not, this is a person with waswas, and what I see is that he should leave this waswas alone, because if he opens the door of waswas to himself, he will be burdened, and Shaytan will come to him to make him doubt in the prayer, and make him doubt even in Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Perhaps his condition will reach the point of doubting in Allah, and perhaps he will be made to doubt about his wife sometimes, whether he divorced her or not, or something similar. So it is for the person to leave this.

The questioner : How is this?

The Shaykh : Peace be upon you, he turns away from it, he turns away from it.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : That is to say - Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy - that is to say, if he doubts - Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy - that is to say, if he doubts, he should not pay attention to this doubt, yes.

The questioner : Is it not permissible?

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : It is not permissible...

The Shaykh : How?

The questioner : He repeats it more than once...
AThe Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : It is permissible...

The Shaykh : What is it?

The questioner : That he is done, he does not read it a second time.

The Shaykh : That is, he does not read it at all, at all. If he read it once, that is sufficient. If he doubts whether he read... Ahmad.
