Is it permissible for a person to increase the washing of the limbs in the ablution, such as washing the feet up to the top?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible for a person to increase the washing of the limbs when performing the ablution, such as washing the feet up to the top?

The Shaykh : Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, mentioned in the verse of the ablution, the bath, and the dry ablution the limits of the limbs that are washed in the ablution. He said, Mighty and Majestic:
O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
So Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, did not specify the face, nor did He specify the head, because their limits are known.
As for the two hands, when mentioned in a general sense, they are suitable for the limit of the hand to be up to the shoulder, and for the limit of the leg to be up to the upper thigh. Therefore, the location needed a restriction. So Allah, the Exalted, restricted the washing of the hands to the elbows, and the elbows are included in what is obligatory to wash. He restricted the washing of the feet to the ankles, and the ankles are included in what is obligatory to wash. So it is not from the Sunnah to go beyond what Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has specified.
As for the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):
On the Day of Resurrection, my followers will be called "Al-Ghurr-ul- Muhajjalun" from the trace of ablution إن أمتي يدعون يوم القيامة غراً محجلين من آثار الوضوء
Sahih al-Bukhari 136
It is an explanation of the reality and of what the servant is rewarded for, and that they will be marked with white from the traces of the ablution. And we have learned the limit of the ablution from the Book of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. So the specification ends at the ankles, even if it is assumed that a person increases his ablution to, for example, half of the lower leg or half of the upper arm, the marking will not increase beyond the limit that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, mentioned.
In summary, the answer is: It is not recommended for a person to increase the ablution beyond what Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has specified.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
