The questioner : The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 635a, why are they called by this name, the two cool prayers, O honorable Shaykh?
The Shaykh : By the two cool prayers are meant the Fajr prayer and the 'Asr prayer. This is because the Fajr prayer contains the coolness of the night, and the 'Asr prayer contains the coolness of the day. These two prayers are the best of the five prayers. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Baqarah 2:238] The middle prayer referred to here is the 'Asr prayer. Also, these two prayers are witnessed by the angels assigned to the protection of the children of Adam. Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Isra 17:78] For this reason, they have this distinction: whoever prays them will enter Paradise.
The questioner : May Allah bless you.
He who observed two prayers at two cool (hours) would enter Paradise.

Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle prayer and stand before Allah, devoutly obedient.
