Explanation of the words of Imam al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding what he quoted: "

The Shaykh : The author (may Allah have mercy on him) stated, in what he quoted from Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 635a The two cool prayers are the Fajr prayer and the 'Asr prayer. This is because the Fajr prayer occurs in the coolest part of the night, and the 'Asr prayer occurs in the coolest part of the day after the sun has passed its zenith. Whoever prays them will enter Paradise. This means that being consistent with these two prayers and establishing them is among the causes of entering Paradise. It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2554Sahih (Darussalam) This means that the comparison is between the seeing and the seeing, not between the one seen and the one seen, because Allah is not like anything else. But you will see Him with a true, confirmed vision, just as a person sees the moon on the night of the full moon. Otherwise, Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is too great and exalted to be compared to any of His creations. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said at the end of the hadith: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2551Sahih (Darussalam) By the one before the rising of the sun, he means Fajr, and by the one before its setting, he means 'Asr. So these two prayers are the best of the prayers, and the best of them is the 'Asr prayer, because it is the middle prayer about which Allah said: [Al-Baqarah 2:238] It is authentically established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said during the Battle of the Trench: Musnad Ahmad 911Sahih (Darussalam) This is an explicit text from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that the middle prayer is the 'Asr prayer. And his statement (peace and blessings be upon him): The meaning is: pray them in the manner commanded, which is by performing them in their time. And if one is among those who pray in congregation, such as men, let him perform them in congregation, because congregational prayer is obligatory, and it is not permissible for a man to leave the congregational prayer in the mosque while he is able to attend it.
As for his second hadith: it is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih al-Bukhari 2996 This means that if a person's habit is to do a righteous deed, and then he falls ill and is unable to do it, he is written the full reward, and praise be to Allah for His blessings. For example, if it is your habit to pray in congregation, and then you fall ill and are unable to pray in congregation, it is as if you prayed in congregation; twenty-seven degrees are written for you. And if you travel, and it was your habit while resident in the town to perform voluntary prayers, read the Qur'an, and to glorify, say the tahlil, and say the takbir, but when you travel you are occupied with the journey from this, then what you used to do while resident in the town is written for you. For example, if you travel and pray alone in the desert with no one with you, the full reward of congregational prayer is written for you if you used to pray in congregation while resident. In this is a reminder that it is befitting for the sensible person, as long as he is in a state of health and leisure, to strive for righteous deeds, so that if he is unable to do them due to illness or occupation, they are written for him in full. Seize health, seize leisure, and work, so that if you are prevented from it by illness or otherwise, it is written for you in full, and praise be to Allah. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Mishkat al-Masabih 1604 This is how it came in the hadith of Ibn 'Umar, either from his statement or from the statement of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), that a person should seize the opportunity while in a state of health, so that if he falls ill, his work in health is written for him. He should strive, as long as he is resident, to do many deeds, so that if he travels, what he used to do while resident is written for him. We ask Allah to make our intentions and yours sincere, and to rectify our deeds and yours.
