The questioner : May Allah reward you. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind. لا يؤمن أحدكم حتى أكون أحب إليه من والده وولده والناس أجمعين
Sahih al-Bukhari 15
Is this ruling general for all the prophets (peace be upon them all), or is it specific to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?

The Shaykh : The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind. لا يؤمن أحدكم حتى أكون أحب إليه من والده وولده والناس أجمعين
Sahih al-Bukhari 15
This is specific to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). As for the other prophets, there is no explicit text regarding them. However, it is obligatory for us to love the prophets because of their status of truthfulness, conveying the message, patience, and endurance. We love them for the sake of Allah, and they are at the head of those we love for the sake of Allah. Just as it is obligatory for us to love a person for the sake of Allah, it is obligatory for us to love the prophets even more. As for equating them with the love for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), there is no explicit text regarding that.
