What is the validity of the saying of the one who says, "The world is kin that are repelled and a land that is swallowed"?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah forgive you, O Shaykh. Regarding the saying, "Kin that are repelled and a land that is swallowed," I do not know what the religious prohibition in it is, or to whom it is attributed?

The Shaykh : By Allah, in any case, this saying, if one says that the world is kin that are repelled and a land that is swallowed, and that there is nothing beyond that, then this is the saying of the materialists (ahl al-dahr) who say:
There is not but our worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time. مَا هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَا إِلَّا الدَّهْرُ
[Al-Jathiyah 45:24]
, and that is disbelief.

The questioner : It means an old saying.

The Shaykh : And it is disbelief because it is a denial of the resurrection.
As for the one who says, "Kin that are repelled and a land that is swallowed," while he believes that there is a resurrection beyond that, then there is no harm for him in this saying. However, he may be rebuked for its general usage, because whoever hears it, or hears this saying, may suspect the doctrine of the materialists who say:
and nothing destroys us except time وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَا إِلَّا الدَّهْرُ
[Al-Jathiyah 45:24]
and do not believe in the resurrection. Therefore, it is better to abstain from this and to stay away from this saying.
