Is it permissible for one who has performed wudu' to wipe over the socks he wears on his feet?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling for one who performs wudu' and wipes over the socks he wears on his feet?

The Shaykh : The ruling on a person's wudu' when he is wearing socks or leather socks (khuffayn) and wipes over them is that his wudu' is valid and his prayer is valid, but on the condition that he wears these socks or leather socks while in a state of ritual purity, and that the wiping is done for minor ritual impurity, not for major ritual impurity (janabah), and that it is within the time limit prescribed by the Shari'ah, which is one day and one night from the first time of wiping for a resident, and three days and their nights from the first time of wiping for a traveler. If he wipes over the socks or leather socks in the prescribed manner, he may pray in them as much as he wishes, whether obligatory or voluntary prayers, until the time limit expires. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and benefit the Muslims through you.
