Explanation of the Book of Ablution, Ghusl, Menstruation, and Tayammum-02b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Musa narrated to us, saying: Abu 'Uwanah narrated to us from Abu Bashir from Yusuf ibn Mahak from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr, who said:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delayed from us on a journey we took, and we caught up with him when the 'Asr prayer had become urgent. We began to perform wudu and wipe over our feet, so he called out at the top of his voice: "Woe to the heels from the Fire," twice or three times.
.

The Shaykh : His statement (may Allah have mercy on him): "and do not wipe over the feet" is a reference to refuting the Rafidah, who claimed that one wipes over the feet in wudu. They cited the saying of Allah the Exalted:
and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles وامسحوا برؤوسكم وأرجلِكم إلى الكعبين
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
, and argued that "feet" is in the genitive case, so it is conjoined with "heads" and thus wiped. However, they saw with the eye of a one-eyed man, for how can they argue:
your feet بأرجلِكم
! How can they argue based on the genitive reading, while not arguing based on the accusative reading? Because the accusative reading also cannot be conjoined with "heads," but must be conjoined with "faces."
The Rafidah opposed the people of the Sunnah regarding the washing of the feet, or more correctly, the purification of the feet, in three ways:
First: They wipe them and do not wash them.
Second: They wipe them up to the prominent bone on the back of the foot, not up to the ankles.
Third: They do not consider it permissible to wipe over the leather socks. This is one of the strange things, that they do not consider it permissible to wipe over the leather socks, even though 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, the imam of the imams, is among its narrators, and yet they do not accept it. This indicates that they follow their desires rather than what the truth indicates. We ask Allah for guidance for us and for them.
