Explanation of the Book of Ablution, Ghusl, Menstruation, and Tayammum-09a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And 'Afwan said: Hisham ibn Juwayriyyah narrated to us from Nafi' from Ibn 'Umar:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I dreamt that I was cleaning my teeth with a Siwak and two persons came to me. One of them was older than the other and I gave the Siwak to the younger. I was told that I should give it to the older and so I did." أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال أراني أتسوك بسواك فجاءني رجلان أحدهما أكبر من الآخر فناولت السواك الأصغر منهما فقيل لي كبر فدفعته إلى الأكبر منهما
Sahih al-Bukhari 246
Abu 'Abd Allah said: Nu'aym abridged it from Ibn al-Mubarak from Usamah from Nafi' from Ibn 'Umar.

The Shaykh : It has a merit in presenting the evidence: "Give it to the older one." And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the story of 'Abd Allah ibn Sahal, when Abu 'Abd al-Rahman wanted to speak, he said to him:
Start with the eldest, start with the eldest كبّر كبّر
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding who is more deserving of leading the prayer:
The earliest of them in Islam أقدمهم سلما
Or he said:
The oldest of them in age أقدمهم سنا
And he said:
Let your oldest lead you in prayer ليؤمكم أكبركم
So the older person has a right to respect. It is regrettable that people now have become contemptuous of the older person and no longer respect him, to the point that a person does not respect his father, even though his father has the right of seniority and the right of fatherhood. But people have been negligent regarding these rights, and this is a sign of danger. If the virtue of those who deserve it is not recognized, that is a sign of danger. We ask Allah for safety. You have "Nu'aym abridged it." What is the method of abridgment?
