The questioner : As for our society, is it better to wear ... ?

The Shaykh : In our society, yes, wearing the ghutrah and the taqiyah is part of completing the adornment.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : Now, if he prays, what happens?

The questioner : If he leaves off ...

The Shaykh : If he leaves it off, his prayer is valid.

The questioner : Meaning he has left off what is best?

The Shaykh : Yes, except for what has become customary. We see among people, especially in the past, that when they went out at the end of the day in the summer days to the gardens, we would find them placing the ghutrah and the shemagh on their shoulders, then they would pray with their heads uncovered. If people become accustomed to this, it becomes included in His saying:
Take your adornment خذو زينتكم
Yes.
