The Meaning of the Poet's Statement: (Explaining the Manner of the Extraction of the Soul of the Believer and the Soul of the Disbeliever) And Likewise the Soul of Every Believer Ascends*** When It Attains Separation from the Bodies

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And likewise the soul of every believer ascends*** when it attains separation from the bodies"
Yes, the soul of every believer, meaning the believer, ascends to Allah and pierces through the heavens until it reaches Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And his statement "*** when it attains separation from the bodies"
means that the soul of the believer attains success when it separates from the body. How does it attain success? Everyone dislikes death. We say, yes, this objection was raised by Aisha to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated that
Whoever loves to meet Allah, then Allah loves to meet him. And whoever dislikes meeting Allah, then Allah dislikes meeting him." She said: "O Messenger of Allah! All of us dislike death." He said: "It is not like that. من أحب لقاء الله أحب الله لقاءه ومن كره لقاء الله كره الله لقاءه قالت يا رسول الله كلنا يكره الموت كلنا يكره الموت قال ليس ذاك
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1067Sahih (Darussalam)
meaning the matter is not as you think,
When the believer is faced with death and is given tidings of Paradise, he loves to meet Allah, he loves to meet Allah. المؤمن إذا حضره الموت وبشر بالجنة احب لقاء الله أحب لقاء الله
because he is given glad tidings of a bliss greater than this world, greater than this world by thousands of times, and it cannot be compared. So his soul loves to meet Allah, and it exits, and the exit has been made easy for it, until it slips out of his body as a hair slips out of dough. A hair from dough; pulling it out is easy. But the soul of the disbeliever, may Allah protect us from that, when it is given tidings of anger and wrath, it scatters in the body, fleeing from the evil of what it was given tidings of. So the Angel of Death extracts it as a spindle is extracted from wet wool. The spindle with which wool is spun; I do not know if you know it, or is it a term for two pieces of wood with nails in them, in which the wool is placed, like this, in order to twist it? When the wool dries in this spindle, one cannot pull it out. So he extracts it with the greatest difficulty, may Allah protect us from that. It dislikes meeting Allah because it was given tidings of what? Of punishment and anger and what distresses it. Therefore, the author said, "*** when it attains separation from the bodies"
It rejoices and is pleased when it is given tidings of a fragrant soul and a fragrant breeze and a Lord not angry. It rejoices, yes. The Angel of Death takes it and gives it to the angels who were present, and with them is a shroud from Paradise and embalming from Paradise. So they place it in this shroud and embalming, then they ascend with it to Allah. The gates of the heavens are opened for it, unlike the disbeliever, for they ascend with it to the sky, then the gates of the heavens are closed against it, and it is thrown to the earth, may Allah protect us from that. And this is more severe than if they had not ascended with it; more severe than if they had not ascended with it, because if it had remained on the earth, it would have been easier than being ascended with it to the sky and then being returned from there. Is that not so? Good. So the soul of the believer, may Allah make us and you among them, this one attains success when it separates from the body because it moves to something better than what it moved from.
