So when something else comes to them, even if it is *** pure, refined, and free of any dross, they reject it and excuse themselves by saying that their currency *** is from something else, by the decree of the Sultan (Ibn al-Qayyim’s intention)

The Shaykh :"So when something else comes to them, even if it is *** pure, refined, and free of any dross,
they reject it and excuse themselves by saying that their currency *** is from something else, by the decree of the Sultan"

They reject the pure, genuine currency on the pretext that their currency is from something other than this currency, even if the currency they rejected was of pure gold, why? Because the Sultan’s decree established this counterfeit currency. The author (may Allah have mercy on him) merely used the currency as an example; in reality, he is referring to the people of Kalam (theology) who follow their scholars and imams and say, "We will not depart from what our imams said, no matter what it is; it is the only thing acceptable to them, and everything else is rejected."
