(The Agreement of the Asha'irah with the Batiniyyah) That the texts are verbal proofs*** which have never led us to certainty, so we ruled by reason, and you*** are likewise, so we are in agreement

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"That the texts are proofs" means we agree on
"That the texts are verbal proofs*** which have never led us to certainty"
Is it so with you?
"*** which have never led us to certainty
So we ruled by reason, and you*** are likewise, so we are in agreement"

Glory be to Allah! The Qaramitah and the Batiniyyah say, "We rule by reason," and the Mu'tazilah and the Asha'irah say, "We also rule by reason." So he says, "Since we and you return to reason and say that the Qur'an and the Sunnah are verbal proofs not capable of leading to certainty, why do you oppose us? We are brothers and in agreement."
"For what reason have you thrown between us*** the war of wars" or al-basus, which is a known war in the pre-Islamic age of ignorance, "while we are like brothers"
"The foundation is reason" The foundation shared between us and you is reason; "reason" means it is the rational basis
"And the word of revelation is ex***cluded, and we and you are of one root"
Glory be to Allah! The word of revelation is excluded from what? From certainty, because with them, the texts in the Qur'an and the Sunnah are verbal appearances that do not yield certainty, and reason is what yields certainty. "And we and you are of one root" "Of one root" means two branches from a single trunk.
"We do not speak by the texts, neither do you*** likewise, so we are in agreement".
