The Meaning of the Poet's Saying: "Is it equal to attribute to Allah what is attributed to a human, and what is attributed to the Most Merciful? From where does the created being have the essence of His attributes? Allah is the Greatest; the two are not equal between the attributes and a created being, just as there is a difference between the Deity and these worlds."

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said, after explaining that those who attribute the Qur'an to the speech of humans or angels are belittling the Qur'an, because it is not equal to attribute the Qur'an to Allah and to attribute it to humans. If it is attributed to humans while it is from Allah, that is a belittling of it. He said:
"From where does the created being have the nobility of His attributes? *** Allah is the Greatest; the two are not equal"
The nobility of the attributes of Allah and the greatness of the attributes of Allah cannot belong to the speech of a created being. He said:
"Between the attributes and a created being, just as *** between the Deity and these worlds"
He means: between the attributes of humans and the attributes of the Creator, just as there is a difference between the Creator and the created being. For this reason, it is an established principle among the people of the Sunnah: that the attributes are treated in the same manner as the Essence, meaning that the attributes of the Creator befit Him and are specific to Him, and the attributes of the created being befit it and are specific to it.
