Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A person has a reward from the endowments for leading the prayer in Ramadan, so should he claim it?

The Shaykh : What I see is that if a person does a good deed, he should not demand compensation for it, neither from the endowments nor from anyone else, because he did it for Allah. Let him keep his intention pure. If some money comes to him from the endowments or from elsewhere, let him take it; otherwise, let him not pursue it. This is based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to 'Umar ibn al-Khattab:
Take out of this wealth which comes to you without your being avaricious and without begging, but in other circumstance's do not let your heart hanker after it. ما جاءك من هذا المال وأنت غير مشرف ولا سائل فخذه ومالا فلا تُتبعه نفسك
Sahih Muslim 1045a
.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : The listener, your brother in Allah, Salah al-Din Ahmad Mahmoud, an Egyptian, says.
