Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Some of the common people believe that moving from the place of the obligatory prayer to another place, or to the place of the voluntary prayer, will result in the earth testifying for them on the Day of Resurrection. Is this correct, O honorable Shaykh?

The Shaykh : As for the earth testifying on the Day of Resurrection regarding the good and evil done upon it, this has come in the Qur'an. Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said:
(4) That Day, it will report its news (5) Because your Lord has commanded it. يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا * بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَى لَهَا
[Az-Zalzalah 99:4-5]
.
As for a person moving from one place to another in prayer in order for the two places to testify for him, this may fall under the general meaning of what Allah the Exalted mentioned in His saying:
(4) That Day, it will report its news (5) Because your Lord has commanded it. يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا * بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَى لَهَا
[Az-Zalzalah 99:4-5]
It may be said that this cannot be specified unless evidence comes to specify it, meaning that we do not say that a person moving from one place to another in prayer is doing so for the sake of testimony, i.e., the testimony of the earth, unless there is specific evidence.

The questioner : May Allah thank you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you and your knowledge, and make it beneficial.
