(Explanation that the wording and the meaning are not intended by the Mu'attilah, but rather they interpret them figuratively, and an example of this is the saying of Allah the Exalted)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"Since the meaning of the speech and its placement *** were not intended by their utterance with the tongue"
This means: the reason is that the messengers brought a riddle because the meaning of the speech and the placement of the speech—placement of the speech means the words—were not intended, and the meaning was not intended. So if it is said:
And your Lord has come وجاء ربك
and it is said that the intended meaning is "the command of your Lord has come," then the wording is not intended, correct? Because the wording that is before us,
Your Lord will come جاء ربك
, they say: this is not intended. And what is intended? "The command of your Lord has come." Is the meaning that appears from his saying,
Your Lord will come جاء ربك
, intended in their view or not intended? Not intended.
So the wording, according to its placement, is not intended, and the meaning of the wording is also not intended in their view. The intended meaning of the wording in his saying,
And your Lord has come وجاء ربك
, is that the One who comes is the Lord, Mighty and Majestic. And this is also the meaning of the address in terms of placement, that is, in terms of language. They denied this and that. And the author (may Allah have mercy on him) says:
"And its placement *** was not intended by their utterance with the tongue
And the intention behind it"

What did they intend in
Your Lord will come جاء ربك
according to the claim of these people who interpret figuratively? "The command of your Lord has come."
"And the intention behind it is not understood from it ***"
The intention, which is "the command of your Lord has come" according to their claim, is not understood from his saying here?
And your Lord has come وجاء ربك
, this is not understood from it. What is understood from "your Lord has come" is that He came Himself.
"And the intention behind it is not understood from it *** What is the riddle among people except these two"
Except these two: the reference is to deviating from the placement in the Arabic language, and intending what is not understood from it. This is the riddle. Yes.
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Huh?
The student: There is one verse left.
Another student: No, no.

The Shaykh : Did we read this?
