Explanation of the position of the Mu'attilah that the Qur'an is created and that it is merely the words of Jibril or Muhammad, and the refutation of them, and the mention of a Sunnah principle that attributing the Qur'an to Jibril is because he is its conveyer to the Messenger of Allah, and attributing it to the Messenger of Allah is because he is its conveyer to the people

The Shaykh :"And all of it is created, and I am not one who says, in the first place, that a single letter of the Qur'an"
They say: Allah did not speak the Qur'an, He did not utter it; rather, it is a created thing, or a thing that is an expression of the speech of Allah, or a report of the speech of Allah, and it is not the speech of Allah. And what follows from this statement, may Allah protect us from it, is what the author (may Allah have mercy on him) will mention. He said:
"that a single letter of the Qur'an is the word of a created being, and is it Jibril or the Messenger? These are
two well-known positions that their sheikhs have stated, O calamity of the Qur'an"
They say: The Qur'an is created. And whose words is it? It is the words of Jibril according to one opinion, or the words of Muhammad according to another opinion.
It is well known that Allah in the Noble Qur'an attributed the Qur'an once to the words of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and once to the words of Jibril, which indicates that it is not the words of Muhammad nor the words of Jibril in the true sense, but rather it is the words of someone other than them. This is because a single statement cannot possibly be the statement of two speakers. So Allah the Exalted said in Surat al-Haqqah:[Al-Haqqah 69:38-41], Who is meant by the Messenger here? Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), because He said: [Al-Haqqah 69:41]. And He the Exalted said in Surat al-Infitar: [At-Takwir 81:19-20] Who is meant by the Messenger? Jibril. So He attributed the Qur'an to this one and that one. Therefore, it is not the words of this one nor the words of that one, because a single statement cannot belong to two speakers. So who is the speaker? Allah. But it is attributed to Jibril as the one who conveyed it to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and to the Messenger of Allah as the one who conveyed it to the Ummah.
Now, these Mu'attilah who denied the speech of Allah say: It is attributed to Jibril as the one who originated it, or to the Messenger as the one who originated it. And if it is attributed to this one or that one, it becomes created, because created speech is created.
He said:

(38) So I swear by what you see (39) And what you do not see (40) [That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger. (41) And it is not the word of a poet
فلا أقسم بما لا تبصرون وما لا تبصرون إنه لقول رسول كريم وما هو بقول شاعرAnd it is not the word of a poet
وما هو بقول شاعر(19) [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger (20) [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position],
إنه لقول رسول كريم ذي قوة عند ذي العرش مكينNow, these Mu'attilah who denied the speech of Allah say: It is attributed to Jibril as the one who originated it, or to the Messenger as the one who originated it.
