The Shaykh : Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) said to al-Ma'mun: "O Commander of the Faithful," addressing him thus, because al-Ma'mun had a group of followers who confused the matter for him, so the issue became muddled for him. The people of the Sunnah and the community distinguish between the one who is obstinate and the one who interprets [the text figuratively], so it was muddled for him. We ask Allah for well-being. Yes.
