The student: Even the jewelry, which is on the chest, complains of the light of her neck, so it is always in this... in worry and anxiety.
The Shaykh : The jewelry complains.
The reader: "The jewelry complains of its distance from it, so for it are the days of the whisper of separation"
The Shaykh : Separation.
The reader: "The jewelry complains of its distance from it, so for it are the days of the whisper of separation
And the two arms, if you wish, compare them to two gold bars with two hands upon them
Like foam, soft in the softness of the touch of pearl shells turned with scales
And the chest is broad over a belly for her, surrounded by two waists of eight spans"
The Shaykh : Khisran with a kasrah.
The reader: "And the chest is broad over a belly for her, surrounded by two waists of eight spans
And upon it is the most beautiful navel, which is the meeting of the two waists".
The Shaykh : The two waists.
The reader: The two waists?
The Shaykh : Yes.
The reader: "And upon it is the most beautiful navel, which is the meeting of the two waists, sunk from the sides
A piece of ivory that is round, and around it are grains of musk, the most perfect in craftsmanship
And when you descend, you see a great matter, over which the descriptions have no power
Menstruation does not cover it, nor urine, nor any of the defects in women
So two thighs have been uncovered by a guard for it, so its side is in honor and protection
They stand in its service; it is the sultan between them, and the right of obedience to the sultan
And it is the obeyed one, its commander does not turn away from it, nor is it cowardly in its presence
And its union is the cure for its youth, so the youth is not weary from it
And when he unites with her, she returns as she came, a virgin without blood or diminishment
So it is desirable and its organ does not turn away; the hadith came with this without denial
And we have narrated that their occupation which came in ease without explanation
The occupation of the bride with her groom after the longings played with her for a long time
By Allah, do not ask him about his occupations in those nights; his affair is of great importance
And strike for them an example of a youth who was absent from his beloved in vast lands
And longing torments him toward her, and he has no means of meeting her
And he came to her after his long absence from her, and the meeting became possible
Should I blame him if he became occupied with her? No, and the One who gave without measure
O Lord, forgive"
The Shaykh : O Lord, may He do you good, O Lord.
The reader: "O Lord, forgive, for our pens have transgressed, O Lord, an excuse from the transgression".
The Shaykh : (May Allah have mercy on him), indeed our pens have increased.
The student: ...
The Shaykh : Yes? The transgression is the increase, but this increase, if Allah wills, does not lead to sin; an increase that does not lead to sin.
His intention with this excitement is what is in Paradise of the houris, and that what is in Paradise is not like what is in this world. They are wives, but they are purified wives. There is nothing in Paradise from what is in this world except the names only. So the author, with this strange and wonderful description, intended to excite the person toward these wives so that he works for them—may Allah make us and you among their wives, and may He grant us beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds.
