By the life of Your face, the best of those to whom supplication is made *** and by the light of Your face, O He of the great status (Seeking nearness to Allah by the life and light of the face of Allah, for it is one of the attributes of Allah)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then he said:
"By the life of Your face, the best of those to whom supplication is made *** and by the light of Your face, O He of the great status"
To the end of it, the author (may Allah have mercy on him) began to seek nearness to Allah the Exalted and Mighty by what is mentioned in the supplication that you will hear.
He said: "By the life of Your face" The life of the face of Allah the Exalted and Mighty; it is permissible to seek nearness to Allah by it because it is one of His attributes, and seeking nearness to Allah by His attributes is permissible. In the authentic hadith:
O God, by Thy knowledge of the unseen and Thy power to create, grant me life as long as Thou knowest life to be best for me, and take me when Thou knowest death to be best for me اللهم بعلمك الغيب وقدرتك على الخلق أحييني إذا علمت الحياة خيرا لي وتوفني إذا علمت الوفاة خيراً لي

He said:
By Your knowledge of the unseen بعلمك الغيب
and
Knowledge علم
here is an attribute.
He said: "*** and by the light of Your face, O He of the great status"
Yes, the light of the face of Allah the Exalted and Mighty; if the veil were removed from His face, the radiance of His face would burn up everything to which His vision extends among His creation. That is to say, the radiance, meaning its brilliance, greatness, and light, would burn up everything to which His vision extends. And His vision extends to everything, so it would burn up everything. But Allah the Exalted veiled Himself from His servants with veils of light, great veils. For this reason, when it was said to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), "Did you see your Lord?" he said:
Light, how can I see it? نور أنى أراه
meaning that great lights, veils, were placed between him and Him.
"*** and by the light of Your face, O He of the great status"
