Allah the Exalted said: {And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. No leaf falls except that He knows it. And no grain is there in the darknesses of the earth...}

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He is a liar, a disbeliever, a liar in his claim, a disbeliever in Allah, because Allah says:
Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah قُلْ لَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ الْغَيْبَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ
[An-Naml 27:65]

"
And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but that He knows it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry [thing] but that it is [written] in a clear record.
[Al-An'am 6:59]
"
This is clear: the knowledge of Allah encompasses everything, what is on the land and in the sea. What about the air? The air is either over land or over sea, is it not? If the plane is over the sea, it is considered part of the realm of the sea, and if it is over the land, it is part of the realm of the land, because the settled thing includes what is above and what is below. For this reason, among the expressions of the jurists, they used to say that the air follows the settled ground. Do you understand, everyone? And therefore, the state has the right to prevent planes from crossing its airspace. Why? Because the air follows the settled ground. So the state owns the land over which it has authority, up to the sky as well. You, O person, have a house with a courtyard, and your neighbor wants to put a roof on it, meaning a structure from above without placing columns. We call it now the roof called the veranda. Do you know the veranda? Well, if he wants to put a veranda on your courtyard, you have the right to prevent him. There is no god but Allah. He says, "I will put a veranda on the twentieth floor." The twentieth floor does not harm him, does it? He has the right to prevent him. Good. Another man wanted to tunnel through the earth from below in order to pass from his property, which is to the right of your property, to his property, which is to the left of your property. He tunnels through the earth. Does he have the right to do that? The man says, "I did not restrict you below." What do you say? We say, no, the settled ground follows what is above it. So, if we suppose that you are on the peak of a camel, and a man wants to open a tunnel under the mountain, can you prevent him or not? Answer, everyone? Yes, you have the right to prevent him, because the air follows the settled ground. But in any case, do not take this from me. I am afraid that tomorrow the people of the houses on the peaks of the mountains will say to the state, "You cannot open a tunnel until you appraise it and give us the value of the tunnel." No, it is not possible here. It is not required of the state, because this is a public benefit and it does not harm you.
Well, if a person has a large farm and a plane wants to cross the air above the farm, what do you say? Does he have the right to prevent it? Well, how do you prevent it, O pilgrims?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : No, no, it is far away. Where is the private part? No, I mean to prevent it in terms of ownership, regardless of the issue of the private part. And what is the private part? No, the international system now is that the one who handles the prevention or the permission is the state. And if a person, for example, has an area of a thousand kilometers and planes want to cross above them, he does not prevent it, because this is an internationally recognized system. The problem is that you want to put guns on your roof against planes. This does not happen. Well, in any case, the point of this is that He knows what is on the land and in the sea. So if someone says, "What about the air?" then it follows what is beneath it. If what is beneath it is land, it is included in the land. If what is beneath it is sea, it follows it.
Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
Not a leaf falls وما تسقط من ورقة
[Al-An'am 6:59]
meaning, from its trees, except that He knows it. And what breaks from a branch, does He know it or not? He knows it, a fortiori. And what is formed in it from a tree, does He know it or not? He knows it, a fortiori.
And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth ولا حبة في ظلمات الأرض
[Al-An'am 6:59]
One, two, three, four, and it passed by us recently. It passed by us in *Al-'Aqidah al-Wasitiyyah*. Well, the right side?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : No, there is no wheat grain in it smaller than that. We said that "grain" includes the smallest mustard seed. Well, in the sea, above its surface, submerged in the mud. Well, this mud is the darkness of the sea, meaning the water is the darkness of the night, the darkness of the rain, the sky is raining, the darkness of the clouds. These are five. Do we need one more? What is it?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : The wave is inside the sea. The darkness of what? Yes, we mentioned it now.
The student: If a fish swallowed this.

The Shaykh : No, did he not mention the darkness of the haze? Does it necessitate a darkness or not? It necessitates a darkness. Haze means gathered dust. Anyway, leave us now. Six darknesses, and there may be other darknesses. So Allah knows best.
and no moist or dry [thing] but that it is [written] in a clear record. ولا رطب ولا يابس إلا في كتابٍ مبين
[Al-An'am 6:59]
This is general, and the clear Book is the Preserved Tablet.
