And from this, it is also known that: "al-Dahr" is not among the names of Allah the Exalted, because it is a static name that does not contain a meaning that would associate it with the Most Beautiful Names.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And from this, it is also known that: al-Dahr is not among the names of Allah the Exalted, because it is a static name that does not contain a meaning that would associate it with the Most Beautiful Names, and because it is a name for time and duration. Allah the Exalted said regarding those who deny the Resurrection:
And they say, "There is not but our worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time." وقالوا ما هي إلا حياتنا الدنيا نموت ونحيا وما يهلكنا إلا الدهر
[Al-Jathiyah 45:24]
They mean the passing of nights and days"
. We have spoken about this before, but here it is clearer and more detailed, meaning broader.
He said: Because it is a static name that does not contain a meaning that would associate it with the Most Beautiful Names. Al-Dahr is a static name, not a derived one, just as al-Hajar (stone) is a static name, not a derived one, and al-Bayt (house) is a static name, not a derived one. It has been established that Allah has the Most Beautiful Names, and they cannot be static names. And because it is a name for time and duration; al-Dahr means time and duration.
They do not mean by their saying "nothing destroys us except al-Dahr" that "nothing destroys us except Allah," never. They mean that nothing destroys us except al-Dahr, meaning the passing of days and nights destroys us. Good.
