The questioner : We are a group of young men who play on a field with natural vegetation, but it is irrigated with treated sewage water. May Allah protect you and my fellow listeners. Do we have to perform the full ritual bath before prayer, because it happens that one of us falls onto the vegetation and so on? I hope you will provide us with information on this?

The Shaykh : You do not have to perform the full ritual bath, meaning you do not have to wash your clothes or your bodies from this treated water, because the impurity of this treated water has been removed by the chemical substances added to it, which eliminated the impurity.
Impure water is purified by adding something to it that removes the effect of the impurity, whether in taste, color, or smell. In fact, the scholars said that if impure water loses its alteration on its own, it becomes pure. However, some scholars stipulated that it must be a large amount, meaning it must reach the volume of two qullahs. If it loses its alteration on its own and has reached the volume of two qullahs, it is pure. If it is less than two qullahs, it does not become pure unless a large amount of pure water is added to it. But the stronger position is that whenever the alteration of the impure water is removed by any removing agent, it becomes pure and does not render clothes or bodies impure. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you. From al-Qasim, Abu 'Abdullah says.
