Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: Isma'il ibn Mansur narrated to us, saying: Ja'far ibn 'Unayn informed us, saying: Abu al-'Amis narrated to us from 'Unayn ibn Abi Juhayfah from his father, who said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at al-Abtah. Bilal came to him and called him to prayer. Then Bilal went out with the staff and planted it in front of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at al-Abtah, and he established the prayer.
The Shaykh : The relevance of this hadith to the chapter is that the chapter is titled "The Adhan for the Traveler." Here it says, "Then he called the adhan," meaning he called the adhan for the prayer. Then it says, "Then he went out," and so on. He called the adhan after having already called the adhan. This occurred when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was staying in Makkah during the Farewell Pilgrimage, before he went out to Mina. He arrived in Makkah on the fourth day of Dhul-Hijjah, performed the circumambulation and the sa'y, then went out to al-Abtah and remained there until the morning of the eighth day, then he left it for Mina. We have passed through many of its benefits.
