A teacher who shaves his beard, wears a gold ring, and is deficient in some matters is teaching us the religious subjects

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A teacher who shaves his beard, wears a gold ring, and is deficient in some matters is teaching us the religious subjects. Is it permissible for me to attend these lessons at the school? I ask for your guidance, may you be rewarded.

The Shaykh : The answer to this question has two parts. The first part is that I advise this teacher to fear Allah the Mighty and Majestic in himself, and to fear Allah regarding those who take knowledge from him. Shaving the beard is forbidden, wearing a gold ring is forbidden, and being deficient in obligatory duties is forbidden. It is obligatory for him not to be among the scholars who did not benefit from their knowledge. It is obligatory for him to fear Allah regarding those who receive knowledge from him, because those who receive knowledge from him will follow his example, unless Allah wills. They will... [knowledge], but they disobey Allah with clear knowledge, may Allah protect us, unless your Lord wills.
So this teacher must hold himself accountable and know that he is responsible before Allah the Mighty and Majestic for what he has done.
As for the second part, it is taking knowledge from this person. There is nothing wrong with taking knowledge from him, even if he commits these sins, unless boycotting him and not taking knowledge from him leads to his rectification, his uprightness, his return to Allah, and deterring others like him from such actions. In that case, he should be boycotted and shunned, and his lessons should not be attended. However, I say: before this treatment, the students should advise him. If they are unable to do so, they should seek the help of the people of good in their land to advise him. If that does not benefit him, they should report his case or raise his matter to the administration of the school, institute, or university where he teaches. They should warn this authority of Allah the Mighty and Majestic and say to them: How can this man be a teacher of religious sciences to us when he does not worship Allah the Exalted with this, this, and this? It is obligatory for the administration of the school, institute, or university to not allow such teachers to teach the children of Muslims. They should advise them and guide them to good. If they are guided, it is for them and for others. If they are not guided, it is obligatory to remove them from the field of teaching. Yes.

The questioner : We conclude this meeting, His Eminence Shaykh Muhammad, with a question from the questioner Umm Maryam, who says.
