Explanation of the Book of the Adhan-04b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Hushayb narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Wahhab narrated to us, saying: Humayd narrated to us from Anas, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
O Banu Salimah, do you not hope for the reward of your footsteps? يا بني سلمة ألا تحتسبون آثاركم
Sunan Ibn Majah 784Sahih (Darussalam)
And Mujahid said regarding His saying:
and record what they have put forth and what they left behind ونكتب ما قدموا وآثارهم
[Ya-Sin 36:12]
He said: Their steps.

The Shaykh : Seeking reward for footprints means that a person seeks reward from Allah for this deed. The meaning of seeking reward from Him is that he hopes for His reward. This is a matter of great importance that many people overlook. Many people pray, perform ablution, and do righteous deeds, but they do not have in mind that they are seeking reward and that they will be rewarded for it. We should be mindful of this and not let heedlessness take hold of us, because there is intention and seeking reward. A person intends the deed for the face of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), but he overlooks the fact that he is seeking reward.
