Explanation of the Book of the Adhan-06b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: Sulayman ibn Harb narrated to us, saying: Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us from Ayyub from Abu Qilabah from Malik ibn al-Huwayrith, who said: We came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while we were young men, and we stayed with him for about twenty nights. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was merciful, so he said:
When you return home, impart religious teachings to your families and tell them to offer perfectly such and such a prayer at such and such a time and such and such a prayer at such and such a time. And at the time of the prayer one of you should pronounce the Adhan and the oldest of you should lead the prayer. لو رجعتم إلى بلادكم فعلمتموهم مروهم فليصلوا صلاة كذا في حين كذا وصلاة كذا في حين كذا وإذا حضرت الصلاة فليؤذن لكم أحدكم وليؤمكم أكبركم
Sahih al-Bukhari 685

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. This heading indicates that al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) did not consider acting upon the hadith that Muslim narrated
The one who recites most of the Book of Allah is to lead the people (in prayers). If they are equal in recitation, then the most knowledgeable in the Sunnah among them. If they are equal regarding the Sunnah, then the earliest of them to emigrate. If they are equal in their emigration then the eldest among them.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 235Sahih (Darussalam)
. However, the hadith is valid. Accordingly, it is said: If they are equal in recitation, let the one most knowledgeable of the Sunnah lead them, as stated in the hadith. Perhaps the Hafiz (may Allah have mercy on him)
