The questioner : In the name of Allah, and all praise is due to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his family and all his Companions.
Al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) said in the chapter: "From where is the Friday prayer taken, and upon whom is it obligatory?"
Ahmad narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Wahb narrated to us, Amr ibn al-Harith informed me, from Ubaydullah ibn Abi Ja'far, that Muhammad ibn Ja'far ibn al-Zubayr narrated to him, from Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, from Aisha, the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that she said:
The people used to come to the Friday prayer from their homes and the high places, arriving in the dust, with dust and sweat affecting them, and sweat would come out of them. A man from among them came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while I was with him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If only you would purify yourselves for your day."

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) brought this hadith because of his statement:
The people used to come to the Friday prayer from their homes and the high places كان الناس ينتابون يوم الجمعة من منازلهم والعوالي
meaning from distant places, they gather for one imam, and it has been established for us that it is not permissible to have multiple congregations except in the case of pressing need or dire necessity.
