The Book of the Two Festivals.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Reciter: Our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions. As for what follows,
Imam al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
The Book of the Two Festivals.

The Shaykh : The important thing is, did you come to us with a smile? Glory be to Allah.
The Reciter: The hadith, O Shaykh, that you indicated, the one in which he ordered them to do it themselves, you indicated that the hadith has many close locations, perhaps 17 locations in Sahih.

The Shaykh : 17 locations; I have not reviewed all the locations. Do you not have the latest edition of Fath al-Bari? Fine, I will give you until tomorrow. Okay.
The Reciter: 22 locations.

The Shaykh : In any case, I have given you until tomorrow.
The Reciter: The Book of the Two Festivals:
Chapter on the Two Festivals and Adorning Oneselves in Them. Abu al-Yaman narrated to us.

The Shaykh : Regarding his mention of "the Two Festivals," know that there is no festival in Islam except 'Id al-Adha and 'Id al-Fitr, and the weekly festival that recurs, which is Friday. Apart from that, there is no festival in Islam, neither for the entry of the month of Muharram, nor for the commemoration of Badr, nor for the commemoration of the Confederates. The important point is that there is no festival in Islam except these three festivals, and 'Id al-Adha and 'Id al-Fitr are the two greatest ones. As for what some people do, making a festival upon the entry of the month of Muharram, this has no basis. It has passed us in the book of Shaykh al-Islam (may Allah have mercy on him), al-Iqtida' al-Shams al-Daliyyah, that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, he found two days among them in which they played, so he said:
Indeed, Allah has replaced them with something better than them: 'Id al-Adha and 'Id al-Fitr. إن الله أبدلكما بخير منهم عيد الأضحى وعيد الفطر
