What is the ruling on fasting on the middle of Sha'ban?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The middle of Sha'ban?

The Shaykh : Regarding the middle of Sha'ban, it is reported from some of the early scholars that he used to fast on the day of the middle of Sha'ban, but no hadith that can be relied upon has been established from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding this. Therefore, it is not prescribed to single out that day for fasting. However, it is said to a person: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to fast frequently in the month of Sha'ban; he did not fast in any month other than Ramadan more than he fasted in Sha'ban. So a person should fast frequently in Sha'ban, just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to fast frequently in it.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, Shaykh Muhammad. We conclude this session with a question from one of the listening brothers regarding.
