The story of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) with Mu'adhah bint 'Abd Allah regarding the making up of fasting by a menstruating woman, but not prayer.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The mother of the believers, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), was asked: "Why does a menstruating woman make up her fast but not her prayer?" A woman who was making up her fast but not her prayer asked her, and she said:
That happened to us, and we were ordered to make up for the fast, but were not ordered to make up for the prayer. كان يصيبنا ذلك فنؤمر بقضاء الصوم ولا نؤمر بقضاء الصلاة
Mishkat al-Masabih 2032
Her answer is based on the wisdom that we know that the fact that Allah commands a menstruating woman to make up her fast but not her prayer is that this is the wisdom. It is merely the command of Allah and His Messenger, and it is wisdom, O my brothers. Listen to the saying of Allah the Exalted:
It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter وما كان لمؤمن ولا مؤمنة إذا قضى الله ورسوله أمرا
[Al-Ahzab 33:36]
complete
that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair أن يكون لهم الخيرة من أمرهم
[Al-Ahzab 33:36]
As long as Allah has commanded this, it is wisdom; as long as He has prohibited this, it is wisdom.
