What is the meaning of the statement of Allah the Exalted: (We will teach you the Qur'an, so you will not forget)?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He has another question, saying: O honorable Shaykh, what is the meaning of the noble verse
We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget, سَنُقرِئُكَ فَلا تَنسى
[Al-A'la 87:6]
?

The Shaykh : The intended meaning is what is known from its apparent meaning.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) promised His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that He would teach him the Qur'an and that he would not forget it. The intended meaning is that he would not forget it permanently; otherwise, forgetting did occur in him (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding some of the verses he recited. However, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would remember them, either by hearing them from someone or by being reminded of them afterwards. For this reason, He said:
(6) We will make you recite, [O Muhammad], and you will not forget, (7) Except what Allah should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hidden. سَنُقرِئُكَ فَلا تَنسى * إِلّا ما شاءَ اللَّهُ إِنَّهُ يَعلَمُ الجَهرَ وَما يَخفى
[Al-A'la 87:6-7]
. Yes.
