Continuation of the discussion on those who say that tawhid al-mutaba'ah (following the Prophet) is one of the three categories of tawhid.

The Shaykh : It is well known among Muslims and clear, whether regarding males or females. For this reason, the scholars said: If a person denies a single letter of the Qur'an, he is a disbeliever and an apostate. Why?
Because he has contradicted the consensus of the Muslims, and Allah the Exalted said:
And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers ومن يشاقق الرسول من بعد ما تبين له الهدى ويتبع غير سبيل المؤمنين
[An-Nisa 4:115]
...
We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination. نوله ما تولى ونصله جهنم وساءت مصيرا
[An-Nisa 4:115]
Therefore, the Qur'an does not require a chain of narration. However, our brother may be asking for something we have not yet understood. Otherwise, the Qur'an is mass-transmitted and does not require us to ask a person who says, "Allah the Exalted said
When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest, إذا جاء نصر الله والفتح
[An-Nasr 110:1]
," to provide a chain of narration or prove it to us. It does not require that. If someone were to ask a person reciting
When the victory of Allah has come and the conquest, إذا جاء نصر الله والفتح
[An-Nasr 110:1]
, "This is from the Qur'an, what is the evidence? Where is the chain of narration?" we would not say that. That is fine.
In any case, I say that what came in the Sunnah is like what came in the Qur'an. This is what I said in response to those who say that we must add a fourth category to the categories of tawhid, namely tawhid al-mutaba'ah (following the Prophet). We say there is no need for this, because we are speaking about the oneness of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). As for tawhid al-mutaba'ah, this pertains to the Messenger. There is no doubt that it is obligatory for us to follow the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) exclusively. Even if a hadith comes from Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthman, 'Ali, Ibn 'Umar, Ibn Mas'ud, Ibn 'Abbas, or others that contradicts the words of the Messenger, what do we take? What do we take, my brothers? We take the words of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
