From the benefits: The prohibition of performing the funeral prayer for a hypocrite.

The Shaykh : In this hadith and in this noble verse, there is evidence for the prohibition of praying over one whose hypocrisy we know. If we know that this man comes to the people of good, associates with them, and praises the people of good and obedience, but behind their backs he openly supports the disbelievers against the Muslims, allies with the disbelievers, and opposes the Muslims, and says to his companions among the disbelievers, meaning by the Muslims, then his hypocrisy is known. It is not permissible for us to pray over him, due to the saying of Allah the Exalted: .
