Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "Indeed, it is the word of a noble messenger, and it is not the word of a poet, little do you believe, nor the word of a soothsayer, little do you remember."

The Shaykh :
[That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger. إنه لقول رسول كريم
[Al-Haqqah 69:40]
It is, namely, the Qur'an.
the word of a noble Messenger. لقول رسول كريم
[Al-Haqqah 69:40]
He is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Allah described His Prophet with two descriptions: that he is a truthful messenger in his message, and that he is noble. Noble in character, noble in nature, and noble in every sense of nobility befitting the sons of Adam. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was, out of his nobility, one who would spend the night with a tight, hungry belly and give the gift of one who does not fear poverty, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him. He would sometimes place a stone on his stomach from hunger and prefer others over himself. Is there any nobility after this nobility? — Answer, O man. No. He is also noble in teaching; he does not leave a field that requires teaching without teaching it. Noble in calling to Allah; he calls to Allah the Exalted with his speech, his actions, and his character, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him. He is noble in every sense of this word that befits the sons of Adam.
And it is not the word of a poet وما هو بقول شاعر
[Al-Haqqah 69:41]
"And it is not the word of a poet" means that the Qur'an is not the word of a poet. He denied that it was the word of a poet because the Quraysh said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was a poet and that this Qur'an was poetry. So he said:
And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe. وما هو بقول شاعر قليلا ما تؤمنون
[Al-Haqqah 69:41]
"Little do you believe," meaning that you do not believe except a little.
Nor the word of a soothsayer ولا بقول كاهن
[Al-Haqqah 69:42]
The soothsayer is the one who informs about the unseen matters of the future, saying, "Such and such will happen on such and such a day, and such and such will happen on such and such a day." This is the soothsayer. The basis of the soothsayer's work is that he has a jinn that brings him news from the sky. The jinn have the ability and strength to climb up until they reach the sky. Then they take what they take from the news of the sky and cast it into the heart of the soothsayer. Then the soothsayer informs people of it, but they add many things to it that are lies. So it is not poetry, nor is it soothsaying. The Quraysh said that this Qur'an is poetry and that Muhammad is a poet because it is solid speech that encompasses wisdom and every noble character, so they compared it to poetry in terms of its wording. And because it contains information about the unseen, and events occur as stated in the Qur'an, they described it with what? With soothsaying, because the soothsayer informs about future things.
Little do you remember. قليلا ما تذكرون
[Al-A'raf 7:3]
"Little do you remember" means that your remembrance is little.
