The presenter: And now let us leave the stage to His Eminence the Shaykh to speak on what is feasible and to answer the questions.

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows:
On this night, Wednesday night, this will be the fifth meeting between our brothers in the Sacred Mosque and those who listen to it. We ask Allah the Exalted to inspire us with the right path.
Last night we spoke about important verses, namely the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that [deed] which is better
[Fussilat 41:34]
Allah the Exalted said:
and thereupon the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend.
[Fussilat 41:34]
This means that if a person wrongs you and you meet his wrongdoing with kindness, then Allah the Exalted turns that wrongdoing into a good deed, for the hearts are in the hand of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). He turns them as He wills. This is a proven fact: if a person meets wrongdoing with kindness, then Allah the Exalted makes that wrongdoing affection and mercy.
And indeed, a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and mentioned to him that he had relatives who did good to him and wronged him, and he maintained ties with them while they cut him off, and he was patient with them while they were rude to him. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: If the matter is as you said, then Allah the Exalted will help you against them and will be an aid for you.
. And likewise, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
One who compensates is not a man who unites relationship : but the man who unites relationship is the one who joins it when the relationship is cut off.
Sunan Abi Dawud 1697Sahih (Al-Albani)
This means that the person who does not maintain ties with his relatives unless they maintain ties with him is not truly a maintainer of ties; no, he is not truly a maintainer of ties; he is merely a requiter. And any person who does good to you and you return it to him, that is requital, not maintaining ties. So, my brother, you must maintain the ties of kinship. You must maintain the ties of kinship. For Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) has guaranteed for the kinship that He will connect the one who connects it and cut off the one who cuts it off. This is a guaranteed promise without doubt. It is a proven fact, for we find among people today those to whom Allah grants the maintenance of kinship, and Allah (Mighty and Majestic) connects them, even if they are few in other acts of worship, but Allah connects them. For this reason, He the Exalted said in this verse:
and thereupon the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend.
[Fussilat 41:34]
. That is, as if he were a close relative, a guardian, and a friend. And there is no wonder in that, for Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) turns the hearts as He wills. There is no heart but that it is between the fingers of the Most Merciful (Blessed and Exalted is He), and He turns it as He wills. So, maintain the ties of kinship and do not belittle anything. Do not belittle anything. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Do not belittle a neighbor’s gift to her neighbor, even if it is the foreleg of a sheep.
.
Then He the Exalted said:
But none is granted it except those who are patient
[Fussilat 41:35]
And no one meets it, meaning is successful in it,
except one having a great portion [of good].
[Fussilat 41:35]
that is, a great share.
Know, my Muslim brother, that the more you maintain the ties of your kinship, the more Allah will be with you, facilitate matters for you, and make things easy for you, until what you spend in this cause, Allah will replace for you, and it will be an aid for you with your relatives.
