Then Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Naba: 25] This exception is a disjunctive exception according to the grammarians; because the excepted item is not of the same kind as the item from which it is excepted,And the meaning is: they have nothing but this,The scalding water: which is the hot water that reaches the extreme of heat as we mentioned previously, that they are given a drink of molten metal that scorches the faces, [Muhammad: 15] , and a freezing drink;The exegetes said: The freezing drink is: a foul-smelling beverage that is extremely cold, so they are combined -may Allah protect us from it- with the extremely hot water and the extremely cold water,So that they will taste the punishment from both sides: in terms of heat, and in terms of cold,Rather, some of the people of exegesis said: The meaning of the freezing drink is: the pus of the people of the Fire and what comes out of their bellies of stench and sweat and the like.
In any case, the noble verse indicates that they will not taste anything but this drink that cuts their intestines due to its heat, and bursts their livers due to its cold -we ask Allah for well-being- and when these types of punishment are combined, that is an increase in the multiplication of the punishment upon them.
Then Allah the Exalted said:
Except scalding water and [foul] purulence -
إِلَاّ حَمِيماً وَغَسَّاقاًand are given to drink scalding water that will sever their intestines?
وَسُقُوا مَاءً حَمِيماً فَقَطَّعَ أَمْعَاءَهُمْIn any case, the noble verse indicates that they will not taste anything but this drink that cuts their intestines due to its heat, and bursts their livers due to its cold -we ask Allah for well-being- and when these types of punishment are combined, that is an increase in the multiplication of the punishment upon them.
