The Shaykh : And His saying, the Exalted: [Al-Buruj 85:1] Allah, Mighty and Majestic, swore by the sky and described it as having constellations, meaning it has high structures. It is like the orbits in the sky, moving by the command of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, wherever Allah wills and wherever He desires.
The Day of Promise is the Day of Resurrection, because the righteous were promised it, and the non-righteous were promised it. And every person will be recompensed for what he did of good and evil. Allah mentioned this to make clear His greatness and the highness of His status, and that no one should be bold in harming Him.
This is also a great day by which Allah swore, because it is a witness and a witnessed, a witness and a witnessed upon. What is witnessed upon are the deeds of the children of Adam, and the witnesses are the children of Adam. The messengers testify against their peoples that they conveyed the message to them, and the messengers, peace and blessings be upon them, testify against the messengers that they fulfilled the testimony that they fulfilled the conveying of the message that is incumbent upon them, and every nation testifies against what another nation did.
