Is it obligatory for me to perform tawaf every time I enter the Sacred Mosque, or is the greeting of the mosque sufficient?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A questioner says: “May Allah reward you, O Shaykh. I love you for the sake of Allah, and my question is: Is it obligatory for me to perform tawaf every time I enter the Sacred Mosque, or is the greeting of the mosque sufficient?”

The Shaykh : It is not obligatory for a person to perform tawaf every time he enters the Sacred Mosque. If a person comes to the mosque to perform tawaf, then his tawaf suffices him from the greeting of the mosque. But if he enters to listen to the Qur’an, attend a circle of knowledge, or something similar, then he does not perform tawaf. Rather, he is like anyone else in other mosques; that is, he prays two rak’ahs and then sits for the lesson.
As for the statement of those who say that the greeting of the Sacred Mosque is tawaf, there is a point to consider regarding this. There is a point to consider regarding its absolute application. It should be said that whoever enters the Sacred Mosque to perform tawaf, his tawaf suffices him from the greeting of the mosque. And whoever enters to attend a lesson or to pray, he begins with the greeting, yes, he begins entering the Sacred Mosque with the greeting, just like other mosques. Yes.
