Is one who is killed in the wars of the Muslims against the disbelievers judged to be a martyr?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says:The questioner : Is the one who is killed in these events among our brothers washed like the dead, or is he judged to be a martyr?

The Shaykh : The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended. إنما الأعمال بالنيات وإنما لكل امرئ ما نوى
Sahih al-Bukhari 1
Indeed, deeds are by intentions, so whoever is transgressing is not a martyr, he is not a martyr. And whoever is in the right, martyrdom is hoped for him. For this reason, a man came to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to ask him, and he said:
O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if a man comes to me wanting my wealth? He said: Do not give him your wealth. He said: O Messenger of Allah, if he fights me? He said: Fight him. He said: O Messenger of Allah, if he kills me? He said: If he kills you, you are a martyr. He said: If I kill him? He said: If you kill him, he is in the Fire.
.
The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified in this hadith that whoever transgresses against people and then is killed in the state of his transgression is in the Fire. And whoever is killed from among those who are transgressed against, defending his wealth, is a martyr. And deeds are by intentions, yes.
