The Shaykh : This knowledge of the Shari'ah of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is received from only two things: the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), based on the saying of Allah the Exalted: [An-Nisa 4:113] and the saying of Allah the Exalted: [An-Nisa 4:59].
If the Muslim community were to return to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and leave behind desires and opinions, and cast disagreement behind their backs, they would attain a level of honor, establishment in the earth, and dominance over all creation that they do not possess today.
From this place, we call upon our Muslim brothers to return to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) with a genuine return based on creed, where action confirms the word. For mere words do not avail anything of the truth. Behold, the hypocrites, when they stand for prayer, stand lazily, showing off to people and not remembering Allah except a little. They remember Allah, but only a little. And behold, they come to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying, "We bear witness that you are the Messenger of Allah." Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Munafiqun 63:1] Did this statement avail them anything? Did this remembrance avail them anything? No, because Allah said: [Al-Munafiqun 63:1] Therefore, the word must be accompanied by action, otherwise it becomes a lie. And if the reference for our creed and our actions is the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
And Allah has revealed to you the Book and wisdom and has taught you that which you did not know. And ever has the favor of Allah upon you been great.
وأنزل الله عليك الكتاب والحكمة وعلّمك ما لم تكن تعلم وكان فضل الله عليك عظيماAnd if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.
