If one leaves off fasting in Ramadan due to illness, is it obligatory for him to make it up?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : O Shaykh, may Allah reward you. My mother was afflicted with an illness in the year 1419, in Ramadan, before Ramadan. She did not fast the entire month of Ramadan, and the illness continued with her for approximately until 1420, which is the Ramadan of 1420, a few days before it. Then Allah helped her, and she fasted the Ramadan of 1420. What is the ruling regarding the Ramadan of 1419 that she did not fast, during which she was ill?

The Shaykh : Can she make it up, or can she not?

The questioner : Currently, meaning, it is possible for her, and it is possible.

The Shaykh : Even if it is one day after another.

The questioner : If she is able, even if it is three days, two days, until it is finished.

The Shaykh : It is obligatory for her, it is obligatory for her to do so.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh.
