What is the ruling on one who omits the prostration of forgetfulness in a missed prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh. What is the ruling on one who omits the prostration of forgetfulness in a missed rak'ah?

The Shaykh : You mean in a missed prayer?

The questioner : In a prayer, yes.

The Shaykh : Some scholars distinguish, saying: If one intentionally omits the obligatory prostration of forgetfulness before the taslim, his prayer is invalid. However, if it is after the taslim, it is not invalid. They reasoned that if the prostration of forgetfulness is within the prayer itself, it is obligatory within it, but if it is after the prayer and after the taslim, it is obligatory for the prayer.
And some scholars say: Whether before the taslim or after the taslim, if one intentionally omits it, his prayer is invalid, because he has disobeyed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in His saying:
Let him prostrate فليسجد
. I do not think a Muslim would intentionally omit the prostration of forgetfulness, which consists of two prostrations, while knowing that the Messenger commanded it. Rather, he is either ignorant or forgetful.
