If one says the closing salam before completing the prayer out of forgetfulness and joins the imam in the funeral prayer, is his prayer valid if he completes it after the funeral prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : I and another person entered during the midday prayer. We were entering while the imam had already started the third unit. I entered with him, and when he finished, we stood up to complete two units. I completed the third, and he completed the third. I stood up for the fourth, and he sat down at the third. So, when I said the salam, I was about to tell him that he had missed a unit, when he joined the imam in the funeral prayer. When he finished the funeral prayer, I told him that he had missed a unit that he had not prayed. In this case, does he repeat the prayer or repeat the complete unit?

The Shaykh : The question states: A man joined the imam during the midday prayer, and he had missed two units. When the imam said the salam, a funeral was brought forward. This man prayed one unit after the imam’s salam, and he feared that he would miss the funeral, so he left the rest of his prayer and joined the funeral prayer. Then he intended to make up one unit.

The questioner : He was forgetful.

The Shaykh : Yes, as you said, he was forgetful. He says: This man did not pray a unit after the imam’s salam; he forgot and said the salam, and joined the imam in the funeral prayer, then completed his prayer after the funeral prayer. We say: His prayer is not valid because of the interruption between the parts of the prayer. It is obligatory for him that when he remembered, he complete his prayer, even if he missed the funeral prayer, because his prayer is an obligatory individual obligation, and the funeral prayer is a collective obligation, and those who are sufficient have already performed it.
