Benefits of the Verse: “Eat and drink from the provision of Allah, and do not commit evil in the land as corrupters”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
And in it is evidence that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) reminds the Children of Israel of these great blessings so that they may perform gratitude. For this reason, He said:
Eat and drink from the provision of Allah, and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption." كلوا واشربوا من رزق الله ولا تعثوا في الأرض مفسدين
[Al-Baqarah 2:60]

And in His saying:
Eat and drink
it is derived from this: that what Allah has created of food and drink for humans, the original ruling is permissibility and lawfulness, because the command here, as mentioned, is for permissibility. So what Allah has brought out for us from the earth or sent down from the sky, the original ruling is lawfulness. So whoever disputes the lawfulness of something from it, upon him is the evidence. Yes, regarding the lawfulness of something from it, and if he says, “This is not lawful, but rather forbidden,” we say to him: upon you is the evidence.
What is the original ruling of prohibition? Acts of worship. As for transactions and benefiting from what Allah has created, the original ruling is lawfulness and permissibility.
And it is derived from this verse: the prohibition of corruption in the earth, due to His saying:
and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption." ولا تعثوا في الأرض مفسدين
[Al-Baqarah 2:60]
and the original ruling of prohibition is forbiddance.
And it is also derived from it: that forbidden things become uglier according to the state of the doer, due to His saying:
Eat and drink from the provision of Allah, and do not commit abuse
[Al-Baqarah 2:60]
For it is not fitting for one whom Allah has expanded for in provision and given what suffices his need, rather his perfection, that they perfected? that he should strive in the earth for corruption. Rather, what is fitting for him is to perform gratitude for these blessings, so he strives for righteousness for himself and for reform for others. Is there anything related to the verse?
The student: That sins in the earth are a cause of corruption.

The Shaykh : That sins are a cause of corruption in the earth, because Allah the Exalted says:
Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done
[Ar-Rum 30:41]
This is a mention of the cause, and He said:
And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning." ولو أن أهل القرى آمنوا واتقوا لفتحنا عليكم بركات من السماء والأرض ولكن كذبوا فأخذناهم بما كانوا يكسبون
[Al-A'raf 7:96]
This is a second mentioned verse, and He says the Exalted:
So when they forgot that by which they had been reminded, We opened to them
[Al-An'am 6:44]
Look at the affliction
We opened to them the doors of every [good] thing until, when they rejoiced in that which they were givenفتحنا عليهم أبواب كل شيء حتى إذا فرحوا بما أوتوا
[Al-An'am 6:44]
and the intended meaning of joy here is the joy of arrogance
when they rejoiced in that which they were given, We seized them suddenly, and they were [then] in despair.
[Al-An'am 6:44]
