We seek guidance for those who belittle the scholars, on the grounds that they are told to turn to them in times of fitnah (trial, discord or temptation), by calling them scholars of menstruation and post-natal bleeding.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Your Eminence, we seek guidance for some of the students of knowledge or some of the youth, regarding those who belittle some of the scholars, whether intentionally or unintentionally. After you tell them to turn to the scholars in times of fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) and in some matters of disagreement, they say: "These are scholars of menstruation and post-natal bleeding."

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : He says: "These are scholars of menstruation and post-natal bleeding," and I heard this with my own ears, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Yes, exactly.

The questioner : We seek a word of guidance, for it will, if Allah wills, be of great benefit.

The Shaykh : Of course, it is obligatory for a person to fear Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and not to mock others:
O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لا يَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌ مِنْ قَوْمٍ عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونُوا خَيْراً مِنْهُمْ
[Al-Hujurat 49:11]
and to guard his tongue, for the tongue is among the most dangerous things for a person. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Mu'adh ibn Jabal:
Shall I inform you of the key to all that? He said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He said: Hold your tongue. He said: Guard this. He said: O Messenger of Allah, are we to be held accountable for what we speak? He said: May your mother mourn you, O Mu'adh! What causes people to fall into the Fire on their faces, or he said: on their snouts, except the harvest of their tongues?
And the scholar who knows the rulings of menstruation and post-natal bleeding is a scholar of one of the limits of Allah and one of the laws of the Shari'ah (Islamic sacred law).
Menstruation and post-natal bleeding are among the most difficult matters for students of knowledge due to the abundance of disagreement regarding them. A good scholar in this field is an expert, and this is not said in a way that belittles him. Furthermore, many things of worship, waiting periods in divorce, and others depend on menstruation and post-natal bleeding, so it is not a trivial matter. Yes.
