Introduction to the importance of knowing the interpretation of the Qur'an.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows: This is the eighty-second meeting after the hundredth of the meeting known as the Open Door Meeting, which takes place every Thursday of every week. This is the twentieth Thursday of the month of Rajab in the year 1415.
It has been our custom to begin this meeting with the interpretation of verses from the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), because the Book of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) was revealed for several wisdoms, among which is worshipping Allah the Exalted by reciting it, for reciting the Book of Allah is among that which brings one closer to Allah, and the reward for each single letter is ten good deeds. It was also revealed for the purpose of reflecting on its meanings, as the Exalted said:
[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded. كتاب أنزلناه إليك مبارك ليدبروا آياته وليتذكر أولوا الألباب
[Sad 38:29]
Many people have neglected this wisdom; I do not say only the general public, but even students of knowledge. You will find some students who are concerned with explaining hadiths or the words of jurists or others from the scholars of the Shari'ah, but they are not concerned with the interpretation of the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), even though the Book of Allah is the mother of all books and to it is the reference of the books. The Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is that which has obligated us to reflect on its verses and to take admonition from them. For this reason, we see that it is not befitting for a student of knowledge to turn away from the interpretation of the Book of Allah while he is concerned with the interpretation of the words of other than Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
We began this interpretation with Surat al-Naba' because this part is often recited in the prayers, such as the Maghrib and 'Isha' prayers, so the general public hear it, and it is good for them to know the meanings of this part of the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). The verses of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) in the Noble Book are similar; perhaps you will find some verses with their text and wording in another place, such as the saying of the Exalted:
O Prophet, fight against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be harsh upon them. And their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the destination. يا أيها النبي جاهد الكفار والمنافقين واغلظ عليهم ومأواهم جهنم وبئس المصير
[At-Tawbah 9:73]
This verse was mentioned with its wording in another place in the Book of Allah; it was mentioned in Surat al-Tawbah and it was mentioned in Surat al-Tahrim, so the Book of Allah the Exalted resembles some of itself.
